A major technology conference due to take place at Dublin Castle next week has been cancelled in a sign of continued weakness in the technology sector. The E-volution: Virtual business in the real world conference was organised by the National Standards Authority of Ireland. It would have looked at the way in which e-business is influencing the Irish and global economic landscape, the challenges to be met and what the future holds.
A spokeswoman for the conference said a lot of work had gone into the marketing of the conference but the bookings just hadn't come in because of the general economic climate.
