A long George IV mahogany dining table made £4,000 at Town & Country's house contents auction in Ranelagh last month, while £1,950 was paid for both an Irish Victorian mahogany bookcase bearing the label of Robert Strahan of Dublin and another mahogany bookcase of the same period.

A set of six Regency mahogany dining chairs with moulded back rails sold for £1,300, a Victorian giltwood overmantel went under the hammer for £1,250 and a George III mahogany slopefront bureau bookcase made £1,200.
