Hamilton Osborne King's clearance auction in the company's salesrooms at Blackrock, Co Dublin, last Wednesday saw a mahogany dining table sell for £950, an art nouveau seven-piece drawingroom suite fetch £800 and a mahogany dumb waiter make £650.

Other prices included: £620 for a late 19th century walnut triptych dressing table; £500 for a mid-19th century mahogany pedestal desk; £420 for an early 19th century mahogany secretaire chest; and £400 for a pair of late 19th century upholstered armchairs.
