Michael West, playwright, screenwriter, translator and co-founder with Annie Ryan of Corn Exchange Theatre Company (also Galway-bound in July), has now turned his hand to writing for children. Jack Fell Town, written in collaboration with TEAM Educational Theatre Company, is currently touring schools in Dublin, Sligo, Monaghan and Donegal.
Aimed at 3rd and 4th class pupils (eight to 10 year-olds), it explores children's experience of loss, at a fictional level, and helps them to cope with bereavement. There will be a public showcase performance on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. at the Civic Theatre Tallaght.
