One of BBC television's most popular programmes, The Antiques Roadshow, is coming to Dromoland Castle, Co Clare, later this month to record an episode for the current series. Presenter Hugh Scully is to be accompanied by 20 experts, who will give free advice and information on antiques. According to Mr Scully, "all the team are looking forward to filming at Dromoland but we need the heavy items to make the programme. We hope people will contact us as soon as possible."
Anyone who does have heavy items - furniture, large paintings, suits of armour - which cannot be brought along on the day should contact the Roadshow in advance. It is advisable to write, including a photograph and as much information about the item as possible, to: Antiques Roadshow, BBC, Whiteladies Road, Bristol, BS8 2LR. The office will then arrange for an expert to visit the owners in their own homes, and where necessary, will arrange transport and security for the items to and from Dromoland Castle.
