VUE offers a once-a-year chance to see work by a large proportion of the artists represented by the country’s leading commercial galleries in one convenient central Dublin venue. With minimal effort, you also get a flavour of what is going on in terms of current Irish art as well as seeing special projects by, say, Stoney Road Press. And it’s free. Among the stalwarts participating are the Cross, the Molesworth, Green on Red, Hillsboro Fine Art, Kevin Kavanagh, the Taylor (including David Quinn’s Pewter 5, above), Jorgensen Fine Art, the Paul Kane, the Peppercanister and the Graphic Studio Galleries. Among the relative newcomers who have been doing very interesting exhibitions are Nag, Olivier Cornet, KT Contemporary, Oonagh Young and the Ebow Galleries. From Belfast there are the Fenderesky and Third Space Galleries and, from West Cork, Catherine Hammond. And the Irish Arts Review will be there.
