Mahogany chest on chest sold for £1,800

An antique mahogany chest on chest fetched the highest price at last month's auction conducted by Drum's of Malahide, Co Dublin. The lot sold for £1,800, while a circular Victorian rosewood dining table on column support made £1,300 and a serpentine-shaped credenza fetched £1,050.

Other prices included: £1,000 for an antique two-drawer mahogany library table; £800 for a set of six Victorian semispoonback mahogany dining chairs; £725 for a mahogany chest of seven drawers; and £700 for a Victorian three-sectioned wardrobe.
