A set of 12 Irish Victorian mahogany balloon-back dining chairs sold for £6,600 and a George IV mahogany rectangular library table, reputed to have belonged to an earlier Duchess of Leinster, made £6,000 at the most recent auction in the James Adam salerooms. A Victorian inlaid walnut, circular centre table fetched £4,700, an extensive Victorian ironstone dinner service made £4,600, a George IV rosewood cylinder bureau bookcase sold for £4,300 and a William IV Irish rectangular serving table went under the hammer for £4,200.
Other prices included: £3,800 for both a set of nine Victorian mahogany framed balloon-back dining chairs and a pair of 19th century mahogany bookcases; £3,400 for a Victorian inlaid walnut bookcase; and £3,100 for a William IV mahogany rectangular economy dining table.
