Now that the exceedingly protracted build-up to this year's Oscars finally is over (although some film trade papers are already speculating on next year), the time is right for the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Lyric FM's Green Room Cinema to celebrate some of the finest Academy Award-winning scores and songs at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

The attractive programme for next Wednesday night will focus on the 1930-1960 period and such classic themes as The Adventures of Robin Hood, Now Voyager, The Wizard of Oz, The Bridge on the River Kwai, A Place in the Sun and High Noon. Equally unmissable is the March 14th concert, which will showcase outstanding movie themes from Lawrence of Arabia, Jaws, ET, The Lord of the Rings, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain.
