What does the idea that there might be dinosaurs on other planets symbolise? Why do people who seem to be stuck in their lives make such good material for short stories? And, conversely, how do those dealing with unwelcome changes reveal themselves to others?
Danielle McLaughlin joined us in the Irish Times studio to discuss her debut short story collection and how the pain, loss, regret and jealousy of her characters found its way onto the page over the course of 11 subtle yet powerful stories.
She also reads an extract from her story, Those That I Fight I Do Not Hate, and tells us a little about what she is writing next.
