The final National Book Fair of the year takes place on Monday, December 29th at the Masonic Hall on Dublin's Molesworth Street. A number of booksellers will be anticipating next year's 1798 commemorative events with publications from and about the period. Craobh Rua Books, for example, expects to offer a first edition of Hay's History and also a copy of Musgrave's History of the Rebellion.
As well as 1798 material, Stokes Books will feature a copy of the Carlow Parliamentary Rolls from 1872 and L.M. McCraith's The Suir from its Sources to the Sea published in Clonmel. JIRI Books from Antrim meanwhile is to bring a copy of Dress of the Ancient Irish by Joseph Walker, dating from 1788, as well as Somerville and Ross's Slippers ABC of Foxhunting and Wright's 1748 Louthania. The fair opens at 10 a.m.
