Summer came to town this week, ushered in by Bruce Springsteen's rock-athon at the RDS on Tuesday, and baptised by last night's gig which set the Olympia hopping to the tunes of DJ Shadow, Monkey Mafia and Johnny Moy. And it doesn't stop there. Tonight, Coldcut are set to play Meeting House Square in Temple Bar, provided the rain holds off.
However, the event guaranteed to encourage the most screams has got to be the release of Boyzone's first greatest hits album tomorrow at Dublin Castle, just before their big concert at the RDS tomorrow night. Also set to take pride of place on the bookshelves of many a teenager is Boyzone By Request by renaissance man BP Fallon, published just in time for this big weekend. It takes a glossy look at the international knee-tremblers, with a great collection of photographs.
