Town & Country is conducting a furniture auction tomorrow on the premises of Castle Durrow, Co Laois, starting at 2 p.m. The 18th century property, which underwent refurbishment in recent years, has now been sold and the contents accordingly will be auctioned. The 400-odd lots include a 1973 Silver Shadow black Rolls Royce, estimated to sell for £6,000-£7,000, while among the best of the furniture is a Georgian breakfront bookcase (£5,000£7,000).

Among the other items of furniture is: a set of 12 George IV dining chairs (£5,000-£7,000); a Georgian serving table (£1,600-£1,800); two Victorian chandeliers (£1,200-£1,500); a set of six George IV dining chairs (£1,200-£1,400); two Victorian mahogany dining chairs (£1,000-£1,500); and a boudoir piano (£800-£900). There are also several pieces of Victorian bedroom furniture such as a half-tester bed (£1,200-£1,400).
