A big round of applause, please, for Celtronic, Derry’s electronic music festival that turns 10 this week.
Keeping the show on the road for so long is some achievement; ensuring such high musical standards is even more impressive.
For their 10th outing, the organisers have attracted some damn good names to the northwest. Tonight’s main draw is Joris Voorn, a rising Dutch star who has released tracks for the Music Man, EQ, Rejected and Cocoon imprints. Saturday’s main event will see live sets from long-standing Dublin producer and Poker Flat artist Donnacha Costello and Space Dimension Controller (RS have snapped up his future funk).
Aside from Tom Middleton bringing the weekend to a close on Sunday night, you should also check out the live set from Jon Hopkins (below), the electronic producer who has worked with Brian Eno, Coldplay and Massive Attack.
