Despite its critical and commercial failure in the US, Oliver Stone's much-maligned Alexander continues to score at the international box-office, where it passed the $100m milestone last weekend - already making more than three times what it took at the US box-office.
It has been particularly successful in Spain, where it registered the fourth highest opening weekend figures to date, and in Germany and France, where it has made over $9 million in each country. The film is now on target to earn at least as much as it cost - over $150 million - even before it goes on video and DVD release and before it is sold to cable and terrestrial TV channels around the world.
