An incorrect figure of 16,000 for the number of extra new cars being added to Dublin's traffic quota was given in Wednesday's editions. The most recent official figures, for 1996, show an increase of 20,800 over the previous year. Since then, car registrations have risen.

Contrary to a report headed "Dazzling young musicians and top traditional players share tunes" in yesterday's editions, Mr Liam O Floinn was not present, due to illness, at the Willie Clancy Summer School. The error occurred in the editing process.

The headline on the assessment of Sile de Valera in yesterday's Arts pages gave her title incorrectly. She is Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands.

Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
