The theatre listings in "The Guide" published in last Saturday's Weekend supplement stated that the forthcoming production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull by the Corn Exchange Theatre is being directed by Annie Ross. It is directed by Annie Ryan.
In the editing process, a line was lost from John Banville's piece on Ulysses, which appeared on the arts page on Wednesday. It should have read: "Joyce set out to write a realist novel in the tradition of Flaubert and, despite his scant regard for him, Henry James, but veered off into a new mode of representing reality. In yesterday's auction results in the Property Supplement, Carhill, at Killincarrig, Delgany, was listed as being sold. In fact it was withdrawn from auction at £195,000 and is now for sale quoting excess £200,000 through the Bray office of Jackson-Stops McCabe.
