A report on Jack Lynch's funeral, published in the editions of October 25th, stated that Mr Des O'Malley and Mr Charles Haughey did not shake hands when invited, at the funeral Mass, to offer a sign of peace. A spokesman for Mr O'Malley has asked us to state that the two men shook hands both at the start of the funeral ceremony and at the time the congregation was invited to exchange a sign of peace.
An article by Paul Flynn on the chef Marco Pierre White, published in the Weekend supplement on October 24th, stated that Mr White had made £340 million in his career. It also stated that he had sold his ideas for dishes to another chef for £325 each. The figures should have read £40 million and £25 respectively.
Col E.D. Doyle, the author of the article headed "Arms haul is just drop in a worldwide flood", was described as a retired Army Intelligence officer. The correct description is a retired Army Director of Signals.
