Belturbet station was on the Great Northern Railway and the narrow gauge Cavan and Leitrim Railway; it operated from 1885 until 1959. The station now houses an exhibition of special interest to railway enthusiasts. 049-9522074.

The Co Wexford village of Kilmuckridge is going to be jumping this weekend for the Mardi Gras. Johnny Giles opens the festival and the Tom Jones Experience is playing tonight. The line-up includes fireworks, limbo dancing, a drag queen fashion show and a fun fair.

Justlight

Parke's Castle, Fivemile Bourne, Co Leitrim, on the shores of Lough Gill, has recently been restored by D·chas. The 17th-century fortified manor house is built around a courtyard and contains the foundations and features from earlier defensive structures.
