Next Monday is the day for enrolment in the decorative and fine-arts course being run by Limerick's Hunt Museum. Beginning on October 4th and continuing every Monday thereafter, the course is divided into two 10-week semesters, with lectures beginning each week at 7 p.m.

The purpose of this series is to encourage and develop participants' interest in the fine and decorative arts, using the Hunt Museum's own collection as the basis for all talks. The range of topics covered is wide, from understanding auctions and the fine-art trade to architecture in the 18th century and the history of Irish glass. Lecturers include the museum's director, Ciaran McGonigal, the Knight of Glin, the National Museum's Mairead Dunlevy and dealers, John Farrington, Gerard Kenyon and Roxane Moorhead.

Participants will have access to the museum's library and free admission to the museum during the course. Price for attendance is £460 for 20 lectures and £275 for 10, payable in advance. For further information, contact Elaine O'Malley at the Hunt Museum, tele 061-312833.
