ALMOST 400 lots are included in a sale being held by Mullen's of Laurel Park at the company's premises in Woodbrook, Co Dublin, next Monday, starting at 7 p.m.

This is a diverse collection of items but among those which look particularly interesting are a Regency mahogany breakfront sideboard, carrying an estimate of £2,500-£3,000, and a Dutch marquetry bombe china display cabinet, which is expected to make £2,000-£3,000

Other pieces likely to fetch a high price include an Italian white marble octagonal fountain from the turn of the century 50 inches in diameter and 28 inches high (estimate, £2,500-£3,500). A 19th century French onyx, porcelain and enamel clock garniture will be sold with a pair of cylindrical enamel and gilt urns, the lot estimated to make £1,600-£2,000.

The same price should be made by an Edwardian mahogany inlaid mirror-backed side cabinet by Maple & Co of London, while a set of eight Victorian mahogany spoon-back dining chairs carry a pre-sale estimate of £1,800-£2,200. These chairs would look well with the following lot, a Victorian mahogany dining table with two inset leaves (estimate £1,400-£1,600).
