Dublin Bus is trying to entice customers onto its NiteLink service this Christmas with the rather smutty slogan "At the end of the night it's a guaranteed ride".

If you're tired of being stood up at the taxi rank, it suggests, try a double decker instead.

The NiteLink service has been expanded this year to operate every night from next Monday, December 7th, to Saturday, January 1st, except Sundays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. NiteLink routes will also service St Stephen's Green and O'Connell Street with departures on the half hour between 12.30 a.m. and 3.30 a.m.

Dublin Bus has also introduced a pilot park-and-ride scheme for Christmas shoppers. The service is already in operation from Whitehall church and the RDS Simmonscourt, from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and late night shopping days.
