What might be described as a rationalisation of contents is to be conducted at Tempo Manor in Co Fermanagh next Saturday. Home to the Langham family, the 19th century Jacobean-style house is crammed with items of interest and some of these are now being offered for sale.
Conducted by Viewback Auctions of Omagh, the sale includes a wide variety of lots, including vintage vehicles - running from a Model T Ford to a penny farthing bicycle. Belleek, Royal Worcester and Staffordshire ware, Irish glass decanters and a huge collection of archaeological and entomological items are also to be sold. Naturally, there is also plenty of furniture, such as a Killarney work demi-lune table, a George III mahogany bucket, a rosewood sideboard, a Victorian games table, an 18th century bureau bookcase, an Edwardian display cabinet, a boulle bracket clock and a long-case clock. There are some oddities, among them a turtle shell and a python skin, as well as a horn gramophone and a samovar. The auction begins on the premises at noon.
