Two very different icons form the twin core of this week’s casting news.
After much speculation, Andrew Garfield, gifted young star of Boy Aand The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus,is to take over from Tobey Maguire for the upcoming (somewhat premature) Spider-Manreboot. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep has been recast as one of the 20th century's great supervillains. Streep is to play Margaret Thatcher in a Film4 production focusing on the Falklands War. Both sound like good choices to us.
