From the moment Guillermo del Toro dropped out of The Hobbitit seemed inevitable that Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Ringscycle, would shuffle back into the frame. Now, it has, indeed, emerged that Jacko is "in negotiations" to direct the two-part prequel to his hugely successful trilogy. Negotiations with whom exactly? Jackson is a producer and co-writer of the project. It sounds as if he's talking to himself. Other directors mentioned include David Yates (perhaps), Neill Blomkamp (interesting) and Brett Ratner (kill me now).
