Yesterday saw the launch of a new book that seeks to view Ireland through the prism of its documentaries. Documentary in a Changing State: Ireland Since the 1990sis edited by Díog O'Connell and Carol MacKeogh and features contributions from Alan Gilsenan, Louis Lentin and Donald Taylor Black. Taylor Black, distinguished director of the National Film School, was keen to reassure Ticket readers that the book, published by Cork University Press, is not overly academic and should grab the general reader.
