After a successful experiment with a cycle of guest editors, our friends at Film Ireland have appointed a regular commissioning editor.

The new man will be Ross Whitaker, director of the excellent documentary Saviours. Meanwhile, it has transpired that Whitaker's 2009 short, Bye Bye Now,which focuses on the decline of the Irish phone box, has scooped the audience award at the American Film Institute's SilverDocs festival.
