Michael Douglas has issued a statement confirming that he will be undergoing treatment for a tumour in the area of his throat.

The announcement was vague as to whether the growth as malignant, but clarified that Douglas (son of the indestructible Kirk) was expected to make a full recovery. “I am very optimistic,” he said. Douglas will next be on our screens in a month’s time when Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, sequel to the defining 1980s drama, opens throughout the world.
