Mullens of Oldcastle, Co Meath, will conduct an evening auction next Tuesday. An original collection of pub memorabilia will be on offer, including signs and posters for whiskey and beer and a Victorian messenger boy's bicycle, which carries an estimate of £200 to £300.

Also in the sale is a set of Victorian balloonback dining chairs, expected to fetch £1,500-£1,800; a slope-front bureau, £800 to £1,000; a Regency style mahogany wine cooler, £400-£600; and a mahogany chest, £500-£700.
