Grandfather clock from 1770 for £4,000-plus

Auctioneer Loughlin Bowe is conducting a contents sale on the premises of Sunville House, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, next Monday; included in this event are a number of items from two other properties. Among the furniture lots, highlights include an Irish mahogany grandfather clock, dating from 1770 and with brass dial and striking mechanism, signed William Thompson of Clonmel. It is expected to make £4,000-£4,500, while a pair of Victorian side cabinets carries an estimate of £2,800-£3,400.

A pair of oak seats attributed to Pugin is expected to sell for £1,200-£1,500 and a pair of satinwood painted card tables has an estimate of £2,400-£2,800. An occasional table attributed to Gillows carries a pre-sale estimate of £1,800-£2,200, a 19th-century Louis XVI-style bonheur de jour is priced at £2,500-£2,900 and a 19th-century inlaid satinwood display cabinet with painted decoration is expected to sell for £4,700-£5,200. Paintings include a 19th-century Englishschool rural landscape (£3,500-£4,500) and a sporting picture by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait dating from circa 1868. Showing Spaniel with Quail, this appeared on BBC Television's Antiques Roadshow and is valued at £2,800-£3,500. Next week's sale also includes carpets, garden furniture and statuary and ceramics.

Mahogany dining table for up to £4,000

Town & Country Auctioneer's sale on the company's premises tomorrow afternoon includes a 12-foot-long plum mahogany dining table (estimate £3,000-£4,000) and a set of eight Chippendale-style dining chairs (£2,000-£3,000).

Also included in the sale are a Victorian bookcase (£3,000-£3,500), a Victorian seven-foot twin-pedestal sideboard (£900-£1,200) and a Victorian walnut oval dining table (£800-£1,200).

Furniture, paintings and wine at Adams sale

Furniture and paintings, as well as wine, come up for sale at the Thomas Adams salerooms next Tuesday. Among the furniture lots is a set of seven Cork dining chairs (estimate £3,000-£3,500), six George III dining chairs and eight Chippendale-style dining chairs (both lots £1,000-£1,500) and a Victorian breakfast table (£1,000-£1,200).

The paintings include Edwin Hayes's Off the Dublin Coast, expected to fetch £2,500-£3,000, Jack Yeats's The Hurler (£2,000-£3,000) and a Percy French seascape (£1,800-£2,200). There are also 20 lots of wine.

Pewter and glass in Omagh sale

Viewback Auctions of Omagh holds a sale this afternoon when the items include a wide variety of pieces, ranging from Cork pewter and Belfast glass to a chemist shop's fittings and 19th-century furniture.

Delgany house contents offers period furniture

Jackson-Stops & McCabe is offering the contents of a house in Delgany, Co Wicklow, next Tuesday afternoon. Lots include some items of period furniture, such as an oak drop-leaf, gate-legged table, a gate-leg oval hall table with drop leaf, two bureaux and an inlaid card table, as well as some glass, silver and china.
