Castle event to sell crystal tableware

A collection of hand-cut Victorian crystal tableware will be among the items on offer at the Dublin Castle antiques and collectables fair tomorrow. The fair will also feature a wide selection of silver tableware, servers, pots and cutlery, toys - including a selection of boxed items - Victorian and Edwardian gold and silver jewellery, linen, lace, coins and medals.

Starting at 10.30 a.m., the fair takes place in the castle's Old Coach House.

Slane fair to offer French drawingroom suite

As part of the Bygone Days Festival in Slane, Co Meath, an antiques fair takes place tomorrow in the town's Conyngham Arms Hotel from midday. In addition to the usual range of items, a number of pieces of furniture will be offered for sale, such as a late 19th-century French gilt drawingroom suite and a Regency bow-front wardrobe in figured mahogany.

Irish furniture feature at Dun Laoghaire

Over 50 exhibitors will be participating in Monday's Bank Holiday antiques and collectables fair at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. Irish furniture will be a feature on this occasion, as the items available include a Regency carved mahogany sofa, decorated with lotus and acanthus leaves, a four-door breakfront, mirror-backed sideboard by Mack Williams & Gibton and an early 19th-century mahogany grandfather clock by James Colhoun of Derry.
