Furniture and paintings for Portumna fair
The second annual Portumna antiques and collectables fair takes place tomorrow at the local Shannon Oaks Hotel, where some 40 stands will be available to the public. Opening at 11 a.m., the event will include a mix of 18th and 19th- century furniture, along with jewellery, silver, paintings and prints, rare and old books and porcelain and china. The next such fair is scheduled for a fortnight hence in Cork.
Unframed works of art at Dublin castle event
A quantity of early Irish political paper memorabilia and a large selection of unframed prints and watercolours are among the items on offer at tomorrow's antiques and collectables fair in Dublin Castle. Fine china and porcelain, linen and lace, books, coins, stamps and medals will also be on display in the castle's Coach House from 10.30 a.m.
Joyce and Yeats first editions on offer
Irish first editions by Joyce and Yeats are included in tomorrow's antiques and books fair at Newman House, Dublin. In addition, there will be railway memorabilia, such as a Co Donegal narrow-gauge railway timetable for 1959, its last year of operation, and rare prints, not least a set of hand-coloured Irish political cartoons from circa 1830.
