First in series on Irish silver at Collins Barracks
Tomorrow sees the first in a series of lectures relating to the National Museum's current exhibition on Irish silver at Collins Barracks, Dublin. Silver as Historical Documents will be discussed by Michael Kenny, Assistant Keeper in the museum's art and industrial division at 4 p.m. Admission is free but places are limited to the first 80 to arrive at the audio visual room. Other talks in the same series take place on successive Sunday's throughout November.
Fund-raising event for St Patrick's Hospital
International director of jewellery at Phillips' Auctioneers, John Benjamin, will be giving an illustrated talk at the Dean Swift Centre, St Patrick's Hospital, Dublin, next Thursday at 7 p.m. Called Faberge: The Life and Works of the World's Greatest Goldsmith, the lecture will raise funds for the hospital.
