CLUB
Bastardo Electrico
Cyprus Avenue, Cork 10.30pm €15 soundcloud.com/Rodhad
The longest running techno night in the land turns 12 and brings in Berlin wizard Rødhåd (above) to mark the occasion. Rødhåd has created quite a buzz for himself, from organising his own bashes on the edges of the German capital in the late 1990s to his current bigwig status via his Dystopian club and label. Support tonight comes from Bastardo Electrico chief Jamie Behan. Jim Carroll
HOUSE
Amir Alexander
Love & Death, Belfast 10pm £10/£8/£5 soundcloud.com/ amir-alexander
Straight out of Chicago, Amir Alexander has been honing his own underground house sound since the late 1990s with releases for labels on both sides of the Atlantic. And his gritty, soulful, modern house sound has really taken flight on club dates worldwide. Support tonight is from Twitch and Robin CJ Smyth. JC
ELECTRONIC
Call Super
Sweeney’s Basement, Dublin 10.30pm Adm free soundcloud.com/callsuper
A great booking from the Gary's Gang crew brings JR Seaton, the man behind one of 2014's most fascinating electronic albums to town. Released on the Houndstooth label, Suzi Ecto fizzes with brio and bliss, as the Berlin-based producer finesses idiosyncratic electronic textures and superbly nuanced patterns throughout. This is music for city streets as much as club floors. Support comes from Kenny Hanlon. JC
THEATRE
Underneath
Lime Tree Theatre. Opens Dec 5-6 8pm , limetreetheatre.ie
A few years ago, the writer and performer Pat Kinevane turned his talents to solo performances with a compassionate and imaginative play called Forgotten. Followed by Silent, those two plays have brought him around the country and then the world in Fishamble's acclaimed productions. Their third collaboration is the story of a disfigured woman with a sharp mind and salty humour, born "on the brink of the world". That's Cobh, actually, but in Kinevane's sly, surreal telling it becomes a haunting space between life and death, inhibition and creation.
