12 cert, THQ, Nintendo Wii (also DS)
Based on the film,
The Last Airbender is, as you'd expect, aimed at younger players. It comes with a 12 rating, neatly cutting out some of the target audience, but it's a little too easy for experienced gamers. Players have a choice of three characters, including Aang, Zuko and the Blue Spirit. As in the film, the characters have some special abilities. At your fingertips are an array of weapons, including fire- bending bombs, air vortexes and smoke bombs. Each character has specific abilities and a personalised arsenal, all controlled with the Wii remote and nunchuk. There are some environments that are exclusive to the videogame, including underground caves and cities. It has some interesting elements, and a passably engaging campaign mode, but the flat two-player co-operative mode is a a let-down.
