Blank canvas: Dublin gears up for in-tents experience

With the Point closed until late 2008, promoters are planning to pitch big marquees in Dublin 8 as temporary concert sites.

Arcade Fire are the first stars under canvas, with shows at MCD's Big Top in the Phoenix Park on October 23rd and 24th. Former Stone Rose Ian Brown is here on October 28th, Bloc Party are in on November 3rd, and Enrique Inglesias crashes the indie rock party on November 5th.

From October 23rd until November 3rd, POD Concerts will hold the Some Days Never End festival in the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Acts confirmed to date include Groove Armada with Dizzee Rascal (October 25th), Jose Gonzalez (26th); Pet Shop Boys (27th); and The Frames with John Cale (31st).

Aiken Promotions also joins the tented party with Live at the Marquee in the Phoenix Park, starring Kanye West (November 30th), Cascada (December 5th) and others acts to be announced.
