Next week: an extended Pricewatch on Christmas gifts
What you've found . . .
Pricewatch has received a number of complaints about the price of soft drinks. One reader was charged 10.80 for two pints of rock shandy at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin; this compares with 8.70 for two pints of beer at Vicar Street the night before. The Licensed Vintners Association says that it is aware of growing consumer concern but that under competition law it cannot make recommendations on prices. It is also talking to the Government about pricing initiatives; it says it is awaiting legal advice before proceeding.
If you notice a significant price increase or discrepancy, let us know by e-mailing pricewatch@irish-times.ie
