Two of our leading galleries seem to be vying with each other to attract the attention of children. The National Gallery has published a handbook, Exploring Art At The National Gallery, by Marie Bourke, Head of Education, which should be useful to children, parents and teachers - as well as a fair few interested adults - while the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery has come up with Picture This!, a lively animation video about the modern art in the gallery. Readers of the accompanying book by Daire O'Connell are encouraged to make their own cubist collages. Parents have been warned . . .
