Shooting wraps tomorrow in Northern Ireland on Wilderness, a horror movie in which young offenders are taken on a course at a remote island. However, it proves to be nothing like the holiday they expected when they discover the island is not deserted. The film stars Sean Pertwee, from Dog Soliders and the imminent Goal!, and Alex Reid, from The Descent and The Honeymooners.
Scripted by Dario Polini, Wilderness is the second feature from writer-director Michael Bassett, who made his debut with the wartime horror movie, Deathwatch (2002). His new film marks the first excursion into the genre for the production company, Ecosse Films, which made the period dramas Mrs Brown and Charlotte Gray and the TV series Monarch of the Glen and The Ambassador.
