All About August: "It wouldn't be summer without the bright evenings. I love the long days of summer. It's about light.
I don't like the dark nights of winter. I love to sit in the garden with my friend's little dog in Dublin and my little cat in Waterford and look at the sky. Often I'm working in summer and I love to come out in the night and see it's still bright. All my life we were waiting for summer. It's so brief. Summer always meant the sea and it meant Tramore . . . going out on the old train and eating sandwiches full of sand."
