O'RElLLYS of Dublin, having had one of their most successful 12 months in 1995, start off this year with a sale next Wednesday of about 500 lots of antique jewellery and good period silverware.
The jewellery includes a handful of diamond rings around the £6,000 mark, while there are several fine watches, including a gold Rolex that could make £5,000.
The silver features a private collection of vestas, trinket boxes, and flatware. Probably the pick of the remainder would be an Irish (Dublin) tray, made in 1839 by Richard Sawyer and with an estimate of, up to £4,500, as well as an 18th century wine funnel, which could have been made in Galway (up to £1,200), and a William IV Dublin tea set (up to about £2,500).
