A group of British and foreign Orders presented to Field Marshal George Charles Bingham, third Earl of Lucan, is to be sold in London next Tuesday. Lord Lucan is remembered both for his land clearances during the 1840s and as the man who was held responsible for the 1854 charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War.

His medals are being sold as part of an auction of military material at Spink and Sons, where they are expected to fetch £18,000-£20,000 sterling. In the same sale, a medal for Canada General Service 1866-70, awarded to Fermoyborn Company Sergeant-Major James Kelly, carries an estimate of £180-£220. Badges of Irish and other regiments, including those of the Leinster Regiment, Royal Munster Fusiliers and the Royal Dublin Fusiliers are expected to fetch between £400 and £500.
