A private buyer paid the day's top price of £2,600 for a set of eight mahogany dining chairs at the auction held on the premises of Thomas Adams & Co last Tuesday. Members of the trade then paid £2,550 for a mid-Victorian mahogany D-end dining table, £1,200 for a set of eight Victorian mahogany dining chairs and £980 for a George III inlaid mahogany bureau.
Again, private bidders bought a pair of art deco Nubian figure standard lamps for £1,500, £1,200 for a Tabriz carpet of Ardabil design and £850 for a set of six mid-Victorian mahogany balloon-back dining chairs.
