Tanya Kiang, who is currently editor of Circa magazine, is due to take over from Christine Redmond as the new director of the Gallery of Photography in January: "I have always thought of myself as working in a gallery without walls," she says, "and it will be wonderful to be working in a gallery with walls." She adds: "Photography's really where it's at in the visual arts right now and frankly so much more exciting than conventional fine arts." It's a cliche, but it is still true to say that Circa, a visual arts magazine funded by both Arts Councils on the island, has gone from strength to strength under Kiang's care. Obviously, the magazine is now looking for a new editor. This is a part-time position, and the new incumbent will not be buying BMWs on the salary of £8,000.
To apply, you need to send a written application, a CV and a two-page synopsis of how you would develop the magazine to Circa Art Magazine, 58 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2, and mark the envelope Personnel. The deadline for applications is November 7th.
