Live In London Tin Angel Records ***

The charming and talented Devon Sproule played in Dublin last year – the same tour that gave birth to this very pleasing record of the event, a combination of CD and DVD. For those who missed the concert, and even for those who didn’t, this performance shows what a singular talent Sproule is. At 28 she still exudes a certain winning, girlish naivete, though, as her songs make clear, there’s a fist in her velvet hippy-dippy glove. Supported by husband and guitarist Paul Curreri and a mellow band starring noted steel guitarist BJ Cole, Sproule adds a loving touch to her quirky country folk songs and some choice covers.
