You Me At Six

From Weybridge, Surrey, this five-piece display only too obviously the influences of Blink-182 and Incubus. The former can be blamed for the plethora of wide-eyed punk/ pop juvenilia that appears on this mediocre album; Incubus can be held accountable for a few tracks that utilise metal’s ridiculous vocal style, akin to deep-throated screaming from the scorching bowels of Hell. Whatever style they adhere to matters little, as there is such a lack of originality on show. It beggars belief the band’s generic music sells in bucketloads. It comes as no surprise to discover that, in the midst of all the slack pop/ punk/metal tunes, is a band whose members are keeping an eager lookout for commercial sidelines: three of them have their own clothing range.
