THE HARD Working Class Heroes festival will return for its 10th year this October 4th, 5th and 6th. The showcase event – which provides the chance for 100 up-and-coming Irish bands and artists to play in front of numerous international industry figures, booking agents and talent scouts who have been invited by the festival – will take place in the Workman’s Club, the Mercantile, Twisted Pepper, the Button Factory, the Grand Social and Meeting House Square.
“HWCH is a real rite of passage for a band,” says Angela Dorgan of organisers First Music Contact.
As well as musical entertainment, there will be a photography exhibition (photographers are invited to submit, via the website), mentoring sessions for bands and the return of HWCH in the City, where a selection of acts will play free afternoon gigs in places such as coffee shops.
Bands and artists are invited to submit their applications via the Breaking Tunes site, which can be accessed through hwch.net.
The closing date for applications is July 26th and early bird tickets are already on sale.
