MUSIC NEWS: Irish actor Aidan Gillen has been announced as the host for the 10th series of Other Voices, which will take place from December 1st to 4th at St James's Church, Dingle.

Gillen, who is based in the Co Kerry town, replaces DJ Annie Mac as presenter and has previous form as a music connoisseur, appearing on Dave Fanning's 2FM show in 2009 to discuss his favourite bands.

"I'm more than excited to be working on Other Voicesthis year," he said. "I only became an actor in the hope of one day getting on Desert Island Discsand playing records – this is way better." Other changes are afoot for the show's ticketing system; tickets will only be available via various competitions.

Organisers say this is a fairer method, as the limited number of tickets available in the past have always been snapped up immediately, leaving many disappointed. The line-up for the 10th instalment of the series will not be announced for another few weeks.
