The big music festivals may dominate the last Bank Holiday weekend of the year, but Sligo Live, Guinness Cork Jazz Festival and Beatyard Weekender aside, there are plenty of smaller events taking place around Ireland, too.
Metal fans will rejoice as the Siege of Limerick – a free all-day metal gig that takes place twice a year at Dolan’s Warehouse – will run this Sunday from 1pm till late. The eighth Siege will see more than 26 bands converge on the venue, including headliners Abaddon Incarnate, Warpath and UK black metallers Wodensthrone.
Dublin’s Workman’s Club will also host one of its traditional Bank Holiday events, with their annual unsigned bands showcase running from 5pm on Sunday. Harbour Master, Legion of Ape, Princess, GANGS and Spies will play live.
Elsewhere, the Hunter’s Moon experimental arts and film festival takes place in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, while the DubLeek Festival in Duleek, Co Meath will have live street music on Sunday, including sets by Midget Monkeys Rockband and Chasin’ Hooley.
