Cork-born and Galway-based, John Daly has been creating waves here, but mostly abroad, for a number of years. A producer with a sixth sense for creating house grooves with warmth, space and depth, Daly earned plenty of plaudits for his Sea Sky debut
album, which collated previous Daly releases for house grandmaster François Kevorkian’s Wave Music label. Sea Sky swirled and bubbled with otherworldly rhythms and liquid harmonies, a testament to Daly’s precision and instinct as a producer.
The heavy metal fan first cut his teeth as a house connoisseur at those halycon Cork club nights of the 1990s, before working his way up the house ladder with releases such as Space Walk (for Mule Musiq), remixes for Rekids, Poker Flat and Prins Thomas’s Internasjonal labels, and establishing his own Fee Music label.
